Stop & Drop Food Drive April 26, 2020 3p-6p

Light of Life Ministries are the recipients of a planned "Stop and Drop" event for clothing and food donations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is this Sunday, April 26, 2020 in Highland Park from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The address is Rhododendron Shelter, Lake Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.

People are encouraged to donate food (non-perishable and perishables), clothing, shoes, boots, books, pencils, notebooks, hand sanitizers, etc.

For health and safety precautions, there will be a curbside drop off location. Also, DJ Nick Nice will be playing music during the event.

The event is a collaboration between veteran Pittsburgh DJ Nick Nice and Grind Mode Management. This physical event follows similar fundraising activities held by DJ Nick Nice on social media.

"I saw a lot of people suffering due to COVID-19, so I opened my social media page to accept donations. I donated all of the contributions to deserving families. I realized the aggressive nature of the coronavirus required an aggressive response in service. This is our response," DJ Nick Nice (also known as Nick Schilling) said.

On DJ Nick Nice's personal Facebook page (Nick Schilling), he had the following stats:

04/02/20 - Approximately 60,000 views on the first two nights. 04/06/20 - Gift cards to deserving families ($300). 04/11/20 - Woodland Hills fundraiser $5,000 in two hours with WAMO. 04/11/20 - Food vouchers from Big Shot Bob’s in Bellevue, PA.

In recent weeks, Americans, and the world, have suffered at the hands of COVID-19, a highly contagious virus that causes respiratory illnesses and can even lead to death.
